About
NEWS FLASH: New date set – Saturday 11th September 2021
Due to the Covid pandemic, we had to postpone the sponsored MakaHike that was expected to take place in May last year. With the government guidelines now announced, we feel confident that we can safely set a new date, and finally get our wonderful hikers up Snowdon and enjoying the experience to its fullest.

The Challenge
On Saturday 11th September 2021 a team of 'MakaHikers' are taking on the majestic and awe-inspiring Mount Snowdon in Wales. Rising 1,085 meters above sea level, there’s something wild and breathtakingly beautiful about the Snowdonia landscape, with soaring, sharp and magnificent peaks rising up high above the deep welsh valleys.
Depending on their experience and abilities the ‘MakaHikers’ will set off at different times to tackle Snowdon, the route will be a challenging 8-9 mile ascending hike taking around 6 -8 hours to summit and return.
Once everyone has reached the summit there will be a Makaton ‘sing and sign’ to celebrate our achievements and promote the wonderful work of The Makaton Charity.
We would be delighted if you were able to donate and support our ‘MakaHikers’, to help us raise much needed funds for this wonderful charity.
About Makaton

There are currently in excess of 2.2 million people in the UK with speech, language and communication difficulties and over 1 million Makaton users.
The Makaton Charity exists to ensure that everyone living with learning or communication difficulties has the tools and resources they need to understand and be understood.
