My Story

Hi all, in September I plan to climb Mount Snowdon within part of a group, to raise money for the Makaton charity. Makaton is a form of sign language that is commonly used by individuals with learning difficulties or speach delay in order that they can communicate with others. Our youngest child, Georgia, has Down’s syndrome, and the use of Makaton has made a huge difference in allowing her to communicate and therefore be more fully included in the world around her.  You may have seen a few videos I have made in order to promote and highlight the importance of Makaton for this reason. The more people that speak Makaton the easier people with communication difficulties will be able to engage with others. Therefore, at the peak of Snowdon a Makaton song will be performed to raise awareness.  The funds raised will support, educate and help train people in the use of Makaton. Please donate if you can to this charity, that gets no official funding, yet is vital to so many, and has given Georgia such valuable support. Thank you.
